Group check-in at Miami International Airport
I’m organizing a corporate trip for a fairly large group of fourteen people flying through Miami. I’m not quite sure how to organize the check-in process so that it doesn't turn into chaos with everyone standing in their own line trying to find each other. I read that Miami International Airport offers a group check-in. I would like to know how it works in practice. Can everyone be checked in at once at a single counter, or is this option only available for certain airlines? Do we need to arrange group check-in with the airline in advance, or can we just show up and tell them there are fourteen of us?

I organized a corporate trip for eleven people through Miami, and I can confirm that group check-in exists, but there’s a catch. Most airlines require advance arrangements, especially for groups of more than ten people. Usually, it’s enough to call or email the airline’s group service a few weeks before departure. They'll then set up a separate check-in counter or assign a dedicated agent. Each person still has to check their luggage separately because it's tied to a specific ticket. However, the check-in process can be completed much faster than if everyone were standing in different lines.
