Splatter screen vs lid – which is actually better?

Debating between buying a splatter screen for frying pan or just using a lid with a steam vent. I fry quite often (meat, veggies, eggs) and hate cleaning grease from walls. What’s your real-life experience – is the screen noticeably better or is it hype?

For most frying the screen wins hands down. A lid (even with a small vent) traps way too much moisture – your bacon gets floppy, fried eggs steam instead of crisp, stir-fries turn mushy. The screen lets steam escape while blocking 80–90% of the splatter. My kitchen walls and stove stay dramatically cleaner since I started using one consistently. This stainless 13-inch version has been perfect for me – splatter screen for frying pan . Sturdy, nests nicely with other pans for storage, and cleans in under 30 seconds.
